Frauds-With Morning Toast & Jam & Juice

fraudsIt’s been around four years since Croydon two-piece Frauds have featured on this blog and the band have been vey busy with all roads leading to the release of their debut album towards the back end of last year. With Morning Toast & Jam & Juice (WMTJJ) was released on the independent label Till Deaf Do Us Party Records.

Opening track Let’s Find Out is full of big drum beats that loom over you while setting the tone for this excellent record. The hard-hitting riffs really stand out on the in your face Smooth before the riotous two-minute burst from The Feeding Frenzy sees the duo rise against backstage toilets. Sandwiches is a real standout moment of the album with its lyrics laced with irony on top of an all out punk rock free for all at times.

The second half of WMTJJ begins with a couple of shorter tracks that encapsulate the exciting Frauds perfectly, first up is Suck Jobs which sees the band really let loose making for an incredibly fun track whilst the impending sense of foreboding that is given off on the riff on Doom means the track could not have a more fitting title. Could’ve, Would’ve, Should’ve displays how well Frauds put together their heavy yet melodic tunes along with some brilliant, witty and observational lyrics to really make for a superb all round listening experience.

WMTJJ really hits the spot for me and only makes me regret not really checking out more of Frauds’ recent material sooner, as well as this if you like two piece’s that make plenty of noise you certainly will not be disappointed by this record.

You can get the album here.
