London’s Tigercats return with their latest album, Mysteries, and their first to be released on the Fortuna Pop label.

The opening track Junior Champion really sets the tone for this glorious album with its entrancing melodies that get you hooked in straight away. The pace is slowed down to wonderful effect on the poignant and yearning Laura and Cesar. Tigercats use of the boy/girl vocals is a prominent feature throughout the record as can be heard in the harmonies on tracks like Globe Town.

Wheezer has an intro that makes you instantly fall in love with this superb track, making it a definite standout moment of Mysteries. Tigercats really have produced a majestic indie pop album and it’s tunes like the delightful, Sleeping in the Back Seat, that emphasise this along with its chorus that instantly gets you singing away. Mysteries is brought to an excellent close with the bittersweet Wendy and Lisa which draws this sublime record to a fantastic close.
