Brand new indie label, Reeks Of Effort Records have brought us a great split EP as one of their first releases, featuring two tracks from Gum, Tyrannosaurus Dead and The Hundredth Anniversary. Gum opening and close the record with their two brilliant tracks Slow and Fast both full of fuzzy guitars, shoegaze as well as a bit of a Pavement influence to get a 90’s vibe going. I had been previously impressed by Tyrannosaurus Dead after featuring their recent EP on here and they’ve continued churning out the great tracks with the excellent Dead Bodies as well as Silverwhich was on the earlier EP. The previously unknown to me, The Hundredth Anniversary are up next with their two tracks Ice Cream and Caroline, which are definitely the most poppy track s on the EP but they have a real charm about them that can’t stop you from falling in love with them.
You can get the EP on Reeks Of Effort’s Bandcamp page.
