Playlounge-Kitten Frenzy

Playlounge remind me of Ash around the time of their Nu-Clear Sounds album, which is no bad thing, whilst also making an impressive racket to say there is only two of them in the band.  Opener Orange Friends eases you into the record then the frantic Friendshift which is the first of three short, sharp bursts of punk rock.  Bohemian Rap City is a really catchy number that you could easily see drunken revellers dancing to, the EP then ends with He Used to be More Fun Before Zoe Lee Punched Him in the Heart that seems to be over before you’ve even said the title.  Kitten Frenzy is a top EP and with a bit of work around the edges Playlounge could well have a bright future.
