Baskin’s Wish Dailyfun

Newcastle’s Baskin’s Wish have released an EP full of impressive powerpop , kicking off with Westmoor Kids Are Great whose fine intro sets the tone for the rest of the record.  You Had Me at Areet carries on in the same mould with some excellent melodies you can also hear similarities to Weezer without it seeming like Baskin’s Wish are just a copycat act.  Third track Bill Murray is Funny, But I’m Still Sad has similarities to the other songs but feels a lot more bouncy and slightly stands out from the rest of the tracks.  Closer Growing Pains is a far more relaxed affair and the change in pace turns out to be a great way to end the EP.
