Brighton’s Tyrannosaurus Dead’s debut EP is an absolute joy to listen to and despite the heavy Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement influences it definitely stands up on its own. Opener 1992 has a great intro which hits you straight away and continues with a really good riff that keeps you entertained all the way through. They bring it down a notch on the far mellower but equally good Silverwhich compliments the other two tracks really well while showing the band can mix it up a bit. The EP ends with standout track Smiling Politely, which mixes some good old rock and roll with some intricate guitars. Overall the Tyrannosaurus Dead EP is an excellent record and hopefully the band can go on to reach the sort of success that similar bands like Yuck have reached.
