We Are Scientists fourth effort is probably their most consistent album to date. They have always been a band capable of writing catchy pop songs as past singles such as After Hours and The Great Escape show. Despite having these previous hits, up until now, We Are Scientists have failed to produce a consistently good album. However the band have managed to produce catchy tunes throughout the album. There are only a couple of standout tracks on the album, such as what can be seen as their very own ode to drinking “Jack &Ginger” and album closer “Central AC”. The drumming of former Razorlight man Andy Burrows has also added a more robust dimension to we Are Scientists. Although Barbara fails to offer We Are Scientists’ catchiest songs it compensates for this by being far more consistent than their previous material.
